About Anaya
Anaya is a ceramics brand founded by artist Alea Bistrician, bringing together botanical inspiration, sculptural form and a contemporary approach to objects for the home.
Born from a desire to give imagination a tangible form, Anaya explores the expressive possibilities of clay. Flowers, organic curves and the movement of fabric become starting points for pieces that balance delicacy with a distinctive presence. Influences from art, interiors and fashion meet in a language of tactile surfaces, considered colour and unexpected details.
Making by hand is central to this vision. Vessels are built gradually, their forms shaped through the coiling technique, with decorations individually modelled and applied. A petal can emerge from the surface; a folded edge can redefine a silhouette. Slight asymmetries and traces of the making process give each piece its own character.
Anaya approaches everyday objects as a place for artistic expression. Its first creations are unique vases, conceived to hold flowers and stand as sculptural pieces in their own right. They invite a closer look and a personal connection with the spaces they inhabit.
At the heart of the brand is the freedom to explore: to follow an instinct, experiment with a new form and allow an individual vision to take shape.
For those who follow their own nature and forge their own path.
The Artist
Alea Bistrician is the founder and artist behind Anaya. Based in Italy, she creates handmade ceramics shaped by her interest in nature, art and design.
Her creative sensibility developed within a family where painting, flowers and decorative objects were part of everyday life. An artist aunt introduced her to drawing and painting; her mother’s passion for gardening nurtured her appreciation of botanical forms; and her father’s love of art and interiors encouraged an eye for objects with character.
With a background in art, Alea approaches clay as a medium for exploration, working intuitively with volume, colour and relief. Through Anaya, she brings these influences into pieces that express both the delicacy of their inspiration and the individuality of the hand that shapes them.
